Howard
Chandler Christy
(1883-1941) |
Howard Chandler Christy has a long, colorful and varied career. He
made his early reputation in accompanying the US troops to Cuba
during the Spanish-American War when articles illustrated by his
drawings and paintings were published by Scribner’s and Leslie’s Weekly.
The famous Christy Girl resulted from his picture, the "Soldier’s
Dream," in Scribner’s. From then on he did beautiful girl
pictures, for McClure’s, and other magazines, almost
entirely. |
